As in “what are the haps”, as in, “what’s happening”. Ahem. Lots to catch up on around here, so I’ll probably do some shorter ones. I’ve got DK64 and Conker to write up about, and a few more coming up. I also borrowed Mario Galaxy 2 from a friend and got the whole 120 stars in a week. I couldn’t be stuffed with the green ones though.
I expect to have Conker’s Pocket Tales and Avatar 1 DS finished soon, but some other things stepped in to take gaming time away from them. I got a new iPhone, which is very exciting, and it means that I now have the processing power and drive space to play many iOS games. I’ve been buying a few that I knew I couldn’t play yet, so those are available now. Having said that, the last few days the only iPhone game I’ve been playing is in the falling sand genre. Small amusements.
Rayman Legends has been fantastic. I’ve been playing it with my wife regularly since we got it just after its launch. I do the platforming, she controls Murfy. We’ve just finished all the Origins remake levels, after doing the regular levels. Now we’re going through the Invasions. So that’s nearly done, so I should review that one too.
Now since I’m on holidays and have some gaming time, I’m going to finish up a few things on the console backlog: check I really did complete Pikmin 2, get the last treasures in A Boy and His Blob, maybe unlock some more stages in Melee. Then I’m going to start Goldeneye finally, since that’s my last unfinished Wii game. I got it ages ago, I think it was my second Wii game. The included Classic Controller Pro was the main point, and I played the multiplayer a bit with my bro, but haven’t touched the campaign. I’m most interested to see how much they follow the Rare game, since it’s in multiple levels of scare quotes a “”“remake”“”.
So what do I have to write up? DK64, BFD, SMG2, Rayman, and whatever else I finish in the meantime. Oh yeah and I started playing Animal Crossing, so I might as well bid farewell to all my other plans after all. We gamed the welcome a friend promotion with Everbloom’s new 3DSXL and got her the digital copy, thus passing the card on to me. Plus we’re looking to buy a house IRL, so it’s busy times.
