[Review] X-Men Origins: Wolverine (DS)

image

On top of the PSP version, Griptonite also made a DS game to tie in to this movie, and they took it in a quite different direction. I like it!

Working my way down the versions, let’s compare the dual-screen tie-in game for the third X-Men film.

[Review] Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2 (DS)

image

This sequel to “Retro Game Challenge” is more of the same, a broader pastiche of the 80s and early 90s of home gaming.

What a fun concept, a little grab bag of NES games that never existed!

[Review] Tangled (DS)

Because I’m nothing if not thorough, I also played the DS version. Let’s see if it was able to dampen my enthusiasm for Rapunzel’s story.

With the recent broadcast of The Clone Wars season 7, I thought it was a good time to catch up on the last piece of expanded media I hadn’t gotten to.

Yay! Mermaids! But can a game intended for preschoolers entertain me, a grown adult, a task for which it was never intended??

[Review] Thor: God of Thunder (DS)

[Review] Trackmania DS & Trackmania Turbo (DS)

[Review] The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (DS)

Might as well round out the trilogy! With a new developer and Cynder having proper deuteragonist status, could it be that the third game is the best one? Maybe! Kinda!

[Review] The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night (DS)

image

I must confess that when seeing that the second instalment of the Spyro reboot trilogy on DS had 3D graphics, I hoped that it might be closer to the original games. I should have known better.

[Review] The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (DS)

image

After playing Shadow Legacy, it seemed natural to try out Amaze’s take on the Spyro reboot. In development terms it’s a direct follow-up, but skews many things differently and like the whole Legend of Spyro continuity in general, it ends up being unsatisfying.
