[Review] Lethal League Blaze (PS4)

It’s Pong meets fighting games meets Jet Set Radio Future, and any formula that contains the latter is an instant winner for me!

[Review] Guacamelee 2 (PS4)

image

Guacamelee 2 is very much more of Guacamelee 1 with some improvements and additions, and that’s OK!

[Review] Iconoclasts (PS4)

image

Konjak’s magnum opus (so far), Iconoclasts’ colourful art belies an emotionally charged story filled with tragedy and intensity. It’s also a great Metroidvania with some novel mechanics!

[Review] Noitu Love 2: Devolution (Wii U)

image

Konjak’s first commercial game is his first sequel, to his first completed game. Its unique control scheme sets it apart, and Sandberg’s animation prowess as of 2008 has resulted in a fantastic-looking game too!

[Review] Pikuniku (co-op) (NS)

image

I can only review the co-op portion of this game, having played it with my brother. It lacks the full off-beat story of the main game, but nevertheless is a delightful and charming physics-platformer.

[Review] The Legend of Dark Witch 3 (3DS)

With no prior knowledge of this series, I picked the third one to try. It’s a labour of love, and competently constructed, and has some quirks of its own to keep itself from being too basic of a Rockman clone.

[Review] Risk of Rain (NS)

This roguelike action sidescroller has something that’s right up my alley: tiny pixel art sprites! Also, I had some great chaotic runs playing co-op with my brother.
