I backed this on Kickstarter back in 2013; it’s about time I played it eh?

Bloodrayne Betrayal is brutal, bloody, and brilliant. Also beautiful, bellicose, bombastic… bespoke…

This game was across many platforms, but WayForward handled the DS version with their usual aplomb. But for the sake of arbitrary comic book rivalry, how does it stack up against their Batman game?

I can only review the co-op portion of this game, having played it with my brother. It lacks the full off-beat story of the main game, but nevertheless is a delightful and charming physics-platformer.

The Divide is very much of its time, but look past the shaky graphics and odd controls and you have a solid isometric Metroid-esque experience.

Back on the WayForward train, with a pair of games based on the 2008 Batman cartoon of the same name.

With no prior knowledge of this series, I picked the third one to try. It’s a labour of love, and competently constructed, and has some quirks of its own to keep itself from being too basic of a Rockman clone.

It’s always good to have a well-made Picross game. What a pleasant surprise for Konami to put out a competent one that draws on their history!

Time to catch up on my iOS backlog! How does the hotly-anticipated-game-of-2014 hold up today?

I found Playtonic’s first effort a delight, and I was excited to see these characters return… doubly so for a somewhat DKC-inspired 2D romp!

My friend Tonya, lifelong duck aficionado, chose this for our little game club this month. Well, they picked the console game specifically but I duked and went for the handheld tie-in, and I don’t regret it.

Game Freak know what I like and it’s Pokemon following you around. Does the rest of the game stack up? Ehhhh…

WayForward days continue with this remake of a NES classic. I have no nostalgia for the show or game personally, so as far as I’m concerned it’s a perfectly cromulent cartoony retro-style platformer with a fun central gimmick.

This roguelike action sidescroller has something that’s right up my alley: tiny pixel art sprites! Also, I had some great chaotic runs playing co-op with my brother.
